Most return-gift budgets are set on the product price alone, then overrun once packaging, personalisation and delivery are added. Building the full per-piece cost first avoids that.
Start from the guest count, not the gift
Take your confirmed guest count, add a buffer of five to ten percent for late additions, and divide the total budget by that number. That figure is your true per-piece ceiling.
Count every line, not just the product
Product, personalisation, packaging, tags, the sample, taxes and delivery all sit inside the per-piece cost. A gift listed below your ceiling can still exceed it once finishing is added.
Let quantity work for you
Rates usually improve at 50, 100 and 250 pieces. If your count sits just under a break, ordering up to it can cost less overall than staying below.
Hold back a contingency
Keep five percent unallocated for a reprint, a courier upgrade or a late addition. Personalised orders leave little room to correct mistakes cheaply.
